CNN Young Wonder

It is with great pride but also humility I get to say I was recognized by CNN! The CNN heroes program has been running 19 years and to be included in such a prestigious event was incredible.

There are so many people doing amazing things around the country and I don’t feel worthy of such recognition. I am just a kid picking up trash trying to leave our rivers better than I found it. It’s not glorious work. It’s not always fun. It can be cold, muddy, gross, and heavy in so many ways.

To have people see that work as heroic is kind of crazy to me but I’ll take it if it inspires one person to step up and protect something they love.

I grew up on this river. I’ve seen the wildlife that depends on it. I’ve paddled miles at sunset and seen eagles flying majestically along the banks. Unfortunately, I’ve also seen the bad parts. I’ve seen owls, and turtles wrapped in fishing line.

All I did was say “someone should fix this” then realized I am somebody! It’s up to each and every one of us to make a difference and together we can!

Long time, no post!

Hello friends!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted an update but it’s been a crazy busy time for me. Last year, I joined the Jane Goodall Roots and Shoots youth council. I’ve made some incredible friends who constantly inspire me to keep making change.

I recently went to the Washington National Cathedral to Jane Goodall’s Celebration of Life. What an experience that was!

To honor a true legend in conservation and wildlife was an honor I will never forget. To be in a room with some of the most influential people in conservation was an immense privilege.

Nashville, Tennessee

Nashville isn’t just a country music town, it’s our state capitol. I have spent so much time lately sharing my thoughts on some bills and working on possibly new ones. I can’t vote yet but that doesn’t mean my voice doesn’t matter. I am so happy I can go speak with influential people and they never make me feel unheard or ignored. Don’t be afraid to speak up for what you believe. We may not always agree but that’s ok.

SEWE 2025

This weekend was SEWE ( South Eastern Wildlife Expo) hosted every year in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina, this event brings together people from across the country to celebrate wildlife and conservation. It is literally the weekend I look forward to every year!

This year I had the pleasure of introducing Forrest Gallante as well as Busch wildlife Sanctuary for each of their shows. I also learned and put to good use the “critter cam”. What an amazing weekend!
