Monthly river cleanup

Every month, I try to organize a monthly river cleanup at different areas of the Tennessee River. The Tennessee River is one of the most polluted in the world with microplastics. Every time my family goes out to clean, we find HUNDREDS of water bottles! Every single time! We also find a huge amount of cigarette butts. These are a big problem because the filters are actually made from plastics fibers and get discarded into the street, creeks, roadways, lawns, pretty much everywhere and the average American doesn’t consider this litter. Please, don’t throw these out! Also balloons! They are a problem because my only can animals eat them but the strings that are usually attached to them can entangle animals like birds, turtles, and even get caught around fish and other aquatic animals.
